About Us

Since 1984, Dance Studios has established itself in the dance industry, providing inspiration and training for dancers across all age groups and skill levels.

Our facilities are located in Glenanda, South of Johannesburg, and at Fundamental Faculty and Factory, Three Rivers, Vereeniging. We offer a comprehensive range of dance classes tailored to both beginners and experienced dancers, with a primary emphasis on competitive dance (Dance Sport) and examinations, including teacher development and training from early education to teacher qualification.

Our team of highly skilled, qualified, and passionate instructors is dedicated to supporting you in achieving your dance objectives.

At DanceIt Studios, we are devoted to cultivating a welcoming and inclusive community for all. Our passionate and experienced trainers, and staff, are committed to delivering an exceptional experience for each student, facilitating excellence in both examinations and competitions, as well as pathways to a professional career in dance. With over 40 years of industry expertise, we pride ourselves on upholding high standards for our dancers and ensuring that every individual has the opportunity to create lasting memories and develop sustainable careers.

Exam Syllabus & Teacher Qualifications

DanceIt Studios is proud to be an affiliate member of the South African Body of Dance (SABOD). We provide a variety of syllabus-based exam classes in Tap, Modern and Hip Hop for students starting from Tiny Tots (ages 4 and up) to our Associate Teacher Qualification exam. We are honored to have supported numerous graduates at DanceIt, helping them achieve Dance Teacher Qualifications through the respected SABOD.

Competitions

DanceIt proudly competes in a variety of local and international dance competitions.

Our studios consistently achieve top results, demonstrating our commitment to excellence. Through our Competition Squad high performance program, we set a high competitive standard, empowering our dancers to reach remarkable new levels in the competitive arena. Many of our talented performers have earned official Provincial and National recognition in Dance Sport awarded by the South African Body of Dance and the Federation of Dance Sport South Africa.

We are honored to hold numerous prestigious titles, with the International Dance Organization (IDO) World Champion title being our most valued achievement, as it is an accolade achieved across 3 disciplines of dance - Performing Arts & Street Dance. DanceIt proudly claims Inter-Continental, African (Continental), and Commonwealth titles, among many others. With our most recent decorated competitive achievements being:

This year (2025), resident DanceIt Studios choreographer, teacher and trainer, Clarishca Viljoen, added the inaugural IDO African Solo Champion to the list of achievements, claiming the title at the inaugural IDO African Championship - Battle of the Giants 2025!

Open Class

Our Open Classes offered in; Hip Hop, Modern, Tap, Acro, Ballet, Popping and K-Pop, are weekly sessions that focus on a different dance topic or technique each week. These classes are designed to improve dancers' technique, foundation, and fundamentals in various dance disciplines, preparing them for exams, competitions, shows, and other opportunities. Open Classes are essential for dancers' growth as they provide fundamental tools for learning.

Exam Class

Under the syllabus structure of the South African Body of Dance (SABOD), exams are available in Tap, Modern, and Hip Hop. The studio hosts the exams, where an accredited SABOD examiner evaluates the students and provides feedback and credit for their achievements. Completing the Associate Level can be used to enhance resumes or as a prerequisite for entry into dance teaching or accreditation programs. Moreover, exams of all levels teach students essential skills such as time management discipline, memorization, professionalism, and goal setting.

Competition Training

DanceIt Studios takes pride in its ability to prepare dancers for all levels of competition, including the highest level of international representation. Our training and coaching have resulted in numerous past and present pupils obtaining South African Protea Colours for Dance Sport. We provide our athletes/dancers with ample opportunities to showcase their talents, receive feedback, and network with other dancers. Our comprehensive training programs also instill valuable skills such as teamwork, professionalism, adaptability, time management, and stress management.

Beginner Adult Classes

Are you ready to dance your heart out? Our social classes are the perfect way to get your groove on! We offer beginner-level Hip Hop, Tap and Modern classes for adults who want to have fun and keep fit.

Acro

Join our Acro Dance class, where we focus on developing essential skills and techniques for aspiring Acro dancers. Offered weekly, this class not only prepares students for competitions but also enhances their abilities in other styles such as Modern and Hip Hop. Experience the perfect blend of strength, flexibility, and creativity as you take your dance journey to new heights!
