About us

DanceIt Studios has been creating and inspiring dancers since 1984. Originally created as the Bev Whitehead Academy of Dancing, we rebranded to DanceIt Studios in 2015 and have been growing ever since. Our studios have been based in Glenvista, South of Johannesburg, and now in River Square Mall, Three Rivers, Vereeniging.

We specialise in dance classes in Tap, Modern, Jazz, Lyrical, Show Dance, Ballet, Hip Hop, Popping. We offer classes for beginners to professional, in all age categories, from 4 to 70 years old. Our experienced and passionate instructors are dedicated to helping you reach your dance goals. Come and join us for a unique dance experience.

Our passionate and dedicated trainers and staff strive to provide each student with the experience of a lifetime, offering opportunities for top results in both exams and competitions. With over 40 years of business experience, we are proud to set a high standard for our dancers and provide every individual with an equal opportunity to create memories and build sustainable careers.

Exams Syllabus & Teacher's Qualification

Our Dance Studio is an affiliate member of SABOD (South African Body of Dance). We offer syllabus based exam classes in Tap, Modern & Hip Hop for Tiny Tots (ages 4+) right through to our Associates (Teacher's Qualification exam). We are proud to have over 40 graduates through DanceIt, who have had the opportunity to receive their Dance Teacher's Qualification under SABOD.

Competitions

DanceIt participate's in various local and international dance competitions, and local

eisteddfod's. Mainly taking part in SABOD competitions which allow our students to compete

from within their relative experience level with SABOD offering a status structure catering for

Novice (beginner), Amateur and Championship.

Trough our affiliation to SABOD who in turn is affiliated to IDO (International Dance Organisation), our dancers are afforded the opportunity to obtain Provincial and National recognition once they partake in the WTC Qualifying Circuit.

Should dancers rank from the National competition, dancers are afforded the opportunity to represent South Africa at the various IDO World Championships (Tap; Modern, Jazz, Show dance, Lyrical; Hip Hop, Popping, Breaking, All-Styles Battles, Street Dance Show). This too, affords our students the possibility of obtaining their official Protea colours awarded by The Federation of Dance Sport South Africa through SASCOC, and handed over by SABOD.

DanceIt studios has received top results in all competitions both locally and internationally. We set a high competitive standard for our dancers through our Competition Squad program of high performance training.

DanceIt is fortunate to have had World Champion's in all 3 IDO World Championship categories that the studio partakes in (Tap, Modern & Hip Hop).
