Competition Squad Update

Hey DanceIt Studios family and friends!

Its been some time since our last update. We sincerely apologise, however we are back with SO much to update you on!

Our DanceIt Studios Competition Squad has been touring all around the country participating in the various SABOD (South African Body of Dance) Provincial competitions. From Sun City, North West to Cape Town to Bloemfontein to KwaZulu-Natal, our squad put themselves to the test against some of the best talent from across the country.

Dance competitions can be a great way for children to learn and grow. They can help children develop discipline, teamwork, and self-confidence. They can also help children learn how to perform under pressure and how to deal with disappointment. In addition, dance competitions can be a lot of fun!

Here are some of the specific benefits of doing dance competitions for children:

  • Discipline: Dance competitions require children to practice regularly and to learn how to follow directions. This can help them develop discipline, which is an important life skill.

  • Teamwork: Dance competitions often involve working with a team of other dancers. This can help children learn how to work together and support each other.

  • Self-confidence: Dance competitions can help children build self-confidence by giving them the opportunity to perform in front of an audience. This can help them feel more confident in their abilities and in themselves.

  • Performance skills: Dance competitions can help children develop their performance skills by giving them the opportunity to practice performing in front of an audience. This can help them become more comfortable performing and can help them improve their stage presence.

  • Dealing with disappointment: Dance competitions are not always easy. Sometimes, children may not win, or they may make mistakes. Learning how to deal with disappointment in a healthy way is an important life skill, and dance competitions can help children learn how to do this.

Of course, there are also some potential drawbacks to doing dance competitions for children. For example, competitions can be expensive, and they can be stressful for children. However, the benefits of doing dance competitions generally outweigh the drawbacks. If you are considering entering your child in a dance competition, be sure to talk to them about the pros and cons and make sure that they are interested in participating.
